Chris C. 1191 posts · Joined 2006. #15 · Dec 13, 2020. As others have written the e46 M3 will be a classic. I don't think a 328ci 5 speed manual will cut it. Maybe if it had the supercharger from the factory. I believe the e39 528 came with an optional supercharger which increased the HP to ~300hp.

E46s, while alluring with their relatively "cheap" prices of entry, are by no means "cheap" to maintain. Expect $1k+/year to maintain, some years more (tires, brakes, major maintenance), some years less (only fluid/filter changes). They are reliable cars, but that's really only if you stay on top of preventative maintenance.

Might call and ask. I did use OEM CCV on 325i with no issue. Correction: Checked and found I had ordered CCV cold climate kit from OemBimmerParts (in 2013). Order doesn't show mfgr but price at $169.95 likely equivalent to their current kit showing three hoses as BMW, one as Rein CRP / BMW and one as CRP/Rein (on sale at $107). D.
